Dana Eveland will remain in the Brewers’ rotation for at least one more start.
“He’s going to have to start showing some signs of improvement,” said manager Ned Yost. Eveland is 0-2 with a 7.97 ERA in four starts this season. If he struggles his next time out Jeremi Gonzalez could take his place in the rotation.

Brewers optioned LHP Dana Eveland to Triple-A Nashville.
Eveland was great in Triple-A, but he went 0-3 with a 7.77 ERA in five starts after replacing Ben Sheets in Milwaukee’s rotation. Next time he’s recalled, it might be to pitch in relief.

Dana Eveland lasted four innings and gave up five runs -- three earned -- Friday in a loss to the Nationals.
Here’s one we didn’t expect to ever write: Hurry back, Rick Helling. Eveland is 0-3 with a 7.77 ERA in five starts since being promoted. The Brewers might decide to plus in Jeremi Gonzalez until Helling returns.

Dana Eveland gave up four runs in five innings to take a loss against the Phillies today.
Eveland has given up four runs in three straight starts and 18 runs in 20 1/3 innings of work overall. He also has yet to complete the sixth inning in any of his four starts, so the Brewers may choose to look at other rotation options in the near future.

Dana Eveland surrendered four runs in 4 2/3 innings against the Reds on Tuesday to fall to 0-1 on the season.
It could have been worse, but reliever Joe Winkelsas stranded a pair of inherited runners after Eveland left in the fifth. His K/BB ratio of 7/2 was fine tonight, but a three-run blast earlier in the fifth by Ken Griffey Jr. ruined the outing. Eveland hasn’t recorded a quality start in three outings since joining the club. The Brewers might not have any chance but to stick with him until Ben Sheets returns, but he’s not worth using in NL-only leagues.

Brewers recalled LHP Dana Eveland from Triple-A Nashville.
Eveland, a bust as a starter for the Brewers earlier this season, will be used in a relief role for at least the next few days. If he does well right away, he might get a chance to stick. It’s more likely that he’ll be back in Nashville’s rotation before the end of the month.
  • INT Starting Pitcher
Hiroki Kuroda will start Sunday against the Giants.
Dana Eveland will pitch Saturday, essentially pushing everyone in the Dodgers rotation back a day. Kuroda is fresh off one his worst performances as a major leaguer (four home runs allowed in six innings against the Nationals) and will look to rebound against the Giants.

Orioles designated LHP Dana Eveland for assignment.
He was cleared to make room for the newly-claimed Zelous Wheeler on the 40-man roster. The 28-year-old southpaw was acquired from the Dodgers over the winter and posted a 3.46 ERA and 8/1 K/BB ratio over 13 innings this spring. He told reporters Thursday that he is willing to accept an assignment to Triple-A Norfolk if he clears waivers.
  • FA Relief Pitcher #29
Tommy Hunter will start Wednesday against the Yankees.
Hunter returned from the minors last Thursday and allowed four runs on five hits over six innings. He has a 5.14 ERA across seven starts this year and can be avoided in all fantasy leagues. Dana Eveland fared better in his start against the Rays last week, but he’ll work out of the bullpen for now.

Orioles recalled LHP Dana Eveland from Triple-A Norfolk.
He’ll get the ball Friday against the Rays. Eveland has posted a 2.21 ERA in 36 2/3 innings this year for Norfolk but holds a 5.52 career ERA, 1.69 career WHIP and 5.9 career K/9 in the bigs, so he can safely be avoided in fantasy leagues.
