  • OAK Relief Pitcher #63
Athletics optioned LHP Hogan Harris and RHP Osvaldo Bido to Triple-A Las Vegas; Re-assigned RHPs Danis Correa, Stevie Emanuels, Michel Otañez, Jack Perkins, Billy Sullivan and Shoehei Tomioka, LHPs Easton Lucas and Domingo Robles, C Daniel Susac, OF Jeisson Rosario and INFs Cooper Bowman, Drew Lugbauer and Jacob Wilson to minor league camp.
The timing is bit surprising on the demotion for Harris, as he’s been having a terrific spring (four scoreless innings with a 6/2 K/BB ratio) and he recorded a save in Cactus League action on Sunday. He and Bido will almost assuredly see time with the big league club during the 2024 campaign, but there were no huge surprises among this first large batch of cuts from the Athletics.
  • OAK Relief Pitcher
Athletics signed RHP Danis Correa to a minor league contract.
Correa spent the last six years in the Cubs’ minor league system before latching on with the Reds in late August after being released. The 24-year-old righty finished this past season with an underwhelming 7.59 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and 39/23 K/BB ratio across 32 innings (30 appearances) between the Double-A and Triple-A levels. He’s merely extra minor league relief depth for the Athletics heading into 2024.
