David DeJesus may be sent back to the minors as soon as today.
GM Allard Baird has said a decision on DeJesus is imminent and that “We’re not going to allow him to just sit on the bench and be a pinch-runner.” We expect that DeJesus will be sent back down to Omaha to get regular playing time, as his 1-for-20 audition showed that he may not be quite ready for full-time action at the major league level just yet. With Matt Stairs and Aaron Guiel around to play left field, the move makes sense.

Triple-A Omaha’s David DeJesus left last night’s game after feeling light-headed after running the bases in the first inning.
DeJesus, who has emerged as Kansas City’s top outfield prospect, is considered day-to-day.

With his ninth-inning double, David DeJesus extended his hitting streak to 11 games.
After a false 1-for-23 start to his season, DeJesus has hit .297 (96-for-323). He looks like a very nice little ball player to us who will contribute in all fantasy categories in 2005.

Rookies David DeJesus and Zack Greinke were selected as the Royals’ player and pitcher for the month of August.
DeJesus hit .359 with 37 hits and 21 runs. Greinke went 3-1 with a 3.69 ERA and 20 strikeouts in 31 2/3 pitched. Greinke was brilliant again last night in shutting out the Tigers 1-0 over seven innnings.

David DeJesus was a late scratch last night due to continued headaches.
He is still suffering from post-concussion syndrome and may miss another few games before being able to return to the Royals’ starting lineup.

David DeJesus (bruised left knee) hopes to play tonight against the Angels.
He was removed in the fourth inning of yesterday’s game after being hit with a Joaquin Benoit pitch. As neither the Royals or DeJesus feel the injury is serious, keep the Kansas City center fielder active this week.

David DeJesus tripled for his first major league hit Saturday.
DeJesus is worth taking as a reserve in your 2004 auction since he’ll become the Royals center fielder if Carlos Beltran is traded during the season. He combined to hit .308 with a 43/38 BB/K rate in 286 Double-A and Triple-A at-bats this season.

David DeJesus is being held out of action due to a strained left groin.
The Royals don’t believe that it’s a serious injury, but DeJesus is scheduled for an examination today. The outfielder is expected to open the season at Triple-A Omaha.

David DeJesus has picked up his game at Triple-A Omaha.
He is 6-for-17 over his last three games and has homered three times in the past 10 days. DeJesus has also been more aggressive on the base paths. It is only a matter of time before Carlos Beltran is traded and DeJesus takes over as the Royals’ starting center fielder.

David DeJesus was out of the Royals’ lineup again after re-injuring his bruised left hand in Monday night’s game.
He hurt himself in his last at-bat Monday and his hand swelled up again. Although DeJesus is questionable for this evening’s series finale against the Twins, the Royals do not believe the injury is serious. Ruben Mateo will continue to play in DeJesus’ place.
