Dellucci may stay in Texas even though the Diamondbacks and Rockies are offering more playing time. The Marlins also have a two-year offer on the table.

Dellucci is safe to sign now, as no compensation would be awarded. If any team decides to go to two years, it will probably get him.

It’s also believed Dellucci has proposals on the table from the Rangers, Diamondbacks and Devil Rays. If the money is all about the same, Dellucci should join the Rockies for a year. He’ll have a chance to earn plenty of playing time, and some Coors Field-inflated stats could turn into extra millions in the future.

There’s just way too much interest in this 31-year-old corner outfielder with a career .261/.339/.418 line that’s been compiled mostly while playing in hitter’s parks. Dellucci is a worth having around as a backup, but it looks like he’s about to become overpaid.
