David Winfree homered in both games of Single-A Fort Myers’ doubleheader on Monday.
Winfree, who just turned 21 this month, is batting .292/.357/.489 in 178 at-bats. He’s a very intriguing prospect as a third baseman, and he could have the bat to handle first if he’s forced to move back across the diamond. With Justin Morneau entrenched, the Twins are sure to keep developing Winfree and Matt Moses as third basemen for now.
