Nationals signed RHP Derek Eitel to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Eitel, who turns 29 on Monday, posted a 3.67 ERA and 71/40 K/BB ratio across 68 2/3 relief frames at Triple-A in the Padres organization this past season. He’s never appeared in the majors and is likely to start 2017 back at Triple-A.
