Tigers signed OF Diego Rincones to a minor league contract.
Rincones has ties to new Tigers president of baseball operations Scott Harris from a seven-year stint in the Giants’ minor league system and links back up with him in Detroit. The 23-year-old slugger hit .258/.306/.383 with 10 homers in 363 plate appearances last year for Double-A Richmond. He’s put up some impressive numbers this offseason in the Venezuelan Winter Leagues, however.
