Elier Hernandez has signed with the Yomiuri Giants of Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball.
Hernandez heads overseas to Japan after being released last week by the Rangers. The 29-year-old outfielder got into 14 contests for Texas during the 2022 season and has remained at Triple-A Round Rock ever since.

The Rangers reassigned OF Sandro Fabian and Elier Hernandez and C José Godoy to minor league camp.
This move now leaves Wyatt Langford and Derek Hill as the only non-roster outfielders left in Rangers camp. It’s more than likely than not Langford will get the nod for the Opening Day roster over Hill due to his impressive spring camp. Fabian will continue to develop at the minor league level where he posted a .854 OPS across 480 plate appearances for Triple-A Round Rock last season.

Rangers re-signed OF Elier Hernández to a minor league contract.
Hernández, who got into 14 games for the Rangers in 2022, hit .298/.359/.478 in Triple-A last season. If he hopes for additional major league time, he probably would have been better off making his way elsewhere. He’s nice depth for Texas, though.

Rangers re-signed OF Elder Hernandez to a minor league contract.
Hernandez wound up ascending to the majors last season, talking just six hits in 33 at-bats over 14 contests, before being shipped back to the minors. The 28-year-old outfielder hit .298/.356/.524 with 13 round-trippers and 10 steals over 351 plate appearances last season for Triple-A Round Rock. He’s a solid organizational depth addition for Texas.

Rangers sent OF Elier Hernández outright to Triple-A Round Rock.
Hernández went unclaimed on waivers after being designated for assignment earlier this week and will remain with the Rangers as organizational outfield depth. The 27-year-old rookie has hit .182 (6-for-33) with a pair of doubles and three RBI in 14 games this season in the majors.

Rangers designated OF Elier Hernández for assignment.
Hernández has been removed from the Rangers’ 40-man roster to make room for Tuesday’s starter Kohei Arihara to get the call back to the majors. The 27-year-old outfielder has hit just .182 (6-for-33) with three RBI in 35 plate appearances over 14 games this season in his big-league debut.

Brad Miller has been scratched from the Rangers’ starting lineup on Saturday due to right neck tightness.
Miller has been replaced by rookie outfielder Elier Hernández for Saturday’s showdown against the Mariners. The 32-year-old righty-masher should be considered day-to-day for the moment.

Elier Hernández went 2-for-3 as the Rangers’ DH in his major league debut Thursday.
Kole Calhoun has been hitting well of late, so the Rangers stuck with him against a lefty and played Hernández over Sam Huff. As it turned out, they probably should have gone the other way, as Calhoun ended up 0-for-4 with three strikeouts. Hernández will definitely play against lefties for the foreseeable future. How much time he’ll get against righties remains to be seen. It wasn’t a great sign that he was lifted for a pinch-hitter in the ninth tonight.

Rangers purchased the contract of outfielder Elier Hernández from Triple-A Round Rock.
Hernández was hitting .295/.364/.546 in Triple-A. he’s 27 and he’s never been nearly this productive before, but he’s earned a shot with his performance this year. Most likely, he’ll get outfield starts versus lefties initially.

Héctor Gómez of Z101 Digital reports that the Rangers are calling up Elier Hernández.
The 27-year-old outfielder has finally earned his first MLB promotion after slashing .295/.364/.546 with 11 home runs, 35 RBI, nine stolen bases, and 40 runs scored across 62 games this season for Triple-A Round Rock. Hernández bats right-handed, and the Rangers’ lineup has been a little too left-handed at times. He might be worth a try in deeper mixed and AL-only fantasy formats.
