Reds sent C Eric Yang outright to Triple-A Louisville.
It’s his first outright assignment, so he’ll have to accept it. Yang spent three games on the roster and got one at-bat for the Reds last week while both Luke Maile and Austin Wynns were out.

Reds optioned C Eric Yang to Triple-A Louisville.
Yang, 26, was called upon to serve in a backup role while both Luke Maile (back) and Austin Wynns (shoulder) were stationed on the injured list. With Maile returning on Friday though, he gets squeezed off of the active roster. Yang went 0-for-1 in his limited action with the Reds.

The 26-year-old backstop will take the place of the injured Austin Wynns (shoulder) on the team’s active roster. Yang had been hitting .164/.330/.206 with zero homers, five RBI and a 22/16 K/BB ratio over 91 plate appearances. He’ll function as the primary backup behind Tyler Stephenson for the time being.
