Abad pitched well in Cactus League action -- posting a 2.79 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and a 6/2 K/BB ratio over 9 2/3 innings -- but it wasn’t enough to secure a spot in the team’s Opening Day bullpen. The 37-year-old hurler will open the season in the bullpen at Triple-A Albuquerque.
