The 30-year-old pitched in Mexico last season and hasn’t been in an MLB organization since 2009. The slight left-hander will function as organizational depth.

Bueno, who has allowed two runs on five hits in 4 2/3 innings of relief this season in the major leagues, takes Jose Mijares’ spot on the roster and will assume the same specialist role.

Bueno surrendered three hits and an earned run in two innings of relief earlier this season with Kansas City. He will again function as a middle reliever.

Bueno allowed one run on three hits over two innings during his brief stint with the big club. The 31-year-old southpaw will return to a 2.85 ERA in 41 innings at the Triple-A level. Everett Teaford was called up to take his place on the active roster.

Bueno hasn’t appeared in the majors since 2008 and owns a 2.84 ERA in 41 innings this season at Triple-A Omaha. Look for him in a long relief role.

The Royals purchased Bueno’s contract on Saturday, but his promotion is viewed as a temporary measure, and he’ll likely be replaced in the next few days. According to the Kansas City Star’s Bob Dutton, a hearing with MLB won’t be scheduled until next week.

He was bumped to make room for the recently-acquired Jeremy Guthrie. Bueno has allowed two runs on five hits in 4 2/3 innings of relief this season in the major leagues. He’ll be brought back up eventually.

Bueno, who was then with the Braves, was found to have intentionally thrown at the head of Alfonso Soriano in an August game. He had the suspension reduced from three to two games after appealing.

Bueno had to complete a two-game suspension stemming from an incident in August 2008 in which he threw at the head of Alfonso Soriano. The 31-year-old left-hander will finish out the season in a middle relief role. He’s now thrown 14 1/3 career innings in the major leagues.

Bueno, 32, appeared in 18 games as a reliever for the Royals last season, posting a 1.56 ERA and 1.04 WHIP in 17 1/3 innings. He should be back up at some point.
