Tarnok

Tarnok takes his talents overseas after being jettisoned from Miami’s roster earlier this month. The 26-year-old reliever will attempt to rebuild his long-term value in Japan after posting a serviceable 3.97 ERA across 22 2/3 innings over 11 appearances in the big leagues since 2022.

All players will have the ability to enter free agency, if they so choose. Bellozo has been an up-and-down option for Miami over the past couple of years, and likely will have interest on the market as a depth piece if he doesn’t stay with Miami.

Tarnok could return to the Marlins over the final week-plus, but more than likely he finishes 2025 in the minors and competes for a bullpen spot in spring training.

No word yet regarding the severity of the sprain, which will determine how much time Tarnok remains out. The 26-year-old middle reliever holds a sharp 2.45 ERA across 7 1/3 innings over five appearances in the big leagues this season.

Tarnok heads back to the majors with rookie starter Ryan Gusto hitting the shelf with a shoulder impingement. The 26-year-old has made three relief appearances this season at the highest level.

Tarnok was only up for a day, and threw 2 1/3 innings in relief against Atlanta. He’ll head down with Adam Mazur recalled for Thursday’s start in a corresponding move.

Tarnok, who opened the season as a Triple-A starting pitcher, made two appearances for the Marlins back in June, throwing two scoreless innings, and since being demoted, he had a 0.74 ERA in 24 1/3 innings out of the pen for Jacksonville. He could work his way into a setup role if he performs well.

Tarnok heads back to the minors with Lake Bachar back from paternity leave ahead of Monday’s game against the Cardinals. The 26-year-old righty has tossed a pair of scoreless frames in two relief appearances this season for Miami.

Tarnok is up with Lake Bachar placed on the paternity list in a corresponding transaction. While with the Marlins, Tarnok will provide a multi-inning option.

Tarnok pitched solidly in both relief appearances, but the Marlins need room for Adam Mazur on the active roster. Tarnok will likely be back at some point this summer.
