Brewers SS prospect Freddy Zamora is expected to be ready to play in spring training.
Zamora signed for $1.15 million after being the 53rd pick in June’s draft. The shortstop missed all of the 2020 season after tearing his ACL, and while he won’t be able to go play in the instructional leagues this fall, the 21-year-old is expected to be ready for the start of the year. Zamora is more defense than bat, but he might hit enough to have some fantasy relevance in deeper dynasty formats.

Brewers signed second-round pick SS Freddy Zamora.
Zamora gets a deal that comes in underslot; signing for $1.15 million against the allocated $1.37 that comes with being the 53rd pick. The former Miami shortstop is a slick-fielder with a strong throwing arm, and while he doesn’t have much power potential, he could hit for a high enough average to become a regular someday. His fantasy value is limited, but he could be a worthwhile pickup in NL-only dynasty leagues.
