Wolforth

Wolforth gives the Astros some extra catching depth in the upper minors at Double-A Corpus Christi after spending the last few years in the Reds’ minor league system. The 25-year-old backstop has yet to reach the majors after being a 14th-round selection in the 2019 MLB Draft out of Nova Southeastern University.

Wolforth spent the last four years in the lower levels of the Reds’ minor league system. The 25-year-old backstop batted .186/.292/.372 with 11 homers and one steal in 299 plate appearances last season between High-A Dayton and Double-A Chattanooga. He’s merely organizational catching depth at this stage of his career.
