    He’ll take the place of the injured Nick Green (thumb) on the active roster. Velazquez, 32, was hitting .314/.392/.383 with three home runs, five stolen bases and a .775 OPS in 101 games at the Triple-A level this year, but he can be ignored in fantasy leagues.

    Gil Velazquez had his best game as a Marlin in Thursday’s loss to the Braves, going 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
    This is the first time that the 32-year-old journeyman infielder has received more than eight at-bats in a major league season. He’s held his own to this point, hitting .270 (10-for-37) with one RBI. His RBI double off Tommy Hanson in the fourth inning was the first extra-base hit of his MLB career.
