Graham Taylor allowed four earned runs over 3 2/3 innings against the Phillies Sunday in his major league debut.
It wasn’t exactly an ideal situation for a first career start, and Taylor did nothing to help himself. He walked six batters and struck out just two. Hayden Penn allowed another seven runs in relief and the Marlins eventually raised the white flag, throwing outfielder Cody Ross out on the mound. He actually managed a scoreless inning. Taylor may not get another shot, but if he does it’ll come against the Cubs. Steer clear.

Marlins purchased the contract of LHP Graham Taylor from Double-A Jacksonville.
He’ll make his major league debut when he Sunday against the Phillies. Taylor, 24, is 2-1 with a 3.24 ERA down at Double-A this season. Fantasy owners should probably steer clear.

Marlins optioned LHP Graham Taylor to Double-A Jacksonville.
The rookie allowed four earned runs in 3 2/3 innings during his debut start, and looked even worse Wednesday night. He’ll leave the big league level with an 0-2 record and 8.18 ERA. The Marlins are craving the return of Andrew Miller.

Andrew Miller (oblique) is scheduled to pitch in a minor league rehab game Wednesday in Jupiter, Florida.
It’ll be Miller’s first rehab start. If all goes well, he’ll throw again for Double-A Jacksonville early next week. He’s closing in on a return to the Marlins’ rotation, which could spell the end of the road for rookie Graham Taylor.

The Marlins will reportedly call up Carlos Martinez following Wednesday’s game with the Braves.
Nothing has been made official yet, but it appears that he’ll take the roster spot of Graham Taylor, who’s slated to start Wednesday night’s game. Martinez has a 4.09 ERA with 10 strikeouts in 11 innings for Triple-A New Orleans.
