Mariners released OF Guillermo Pimentel.
Pimentel signed for $2 million out of the Dominican Republic in 2011 and made Baseball Prospectus’ top-100 prospects list in 2012, but he batted just .215/.297/.349 in 78 games this summer between High-A Bakersfield and Double-A Jackson. The 23-year-old corner outfielder owns a weak .714 career minor league OPS.
