According to Jeeho Yoo of Yonhap News, the Dodgers signed Korea’s top amateur pitching prospect Hyun-Seok Jang to a $900,000 contract.
The 19-year-old hurler recently announced that he was bypassing the KBO draft — where he was expected to be the first overall selection — in order to entertain offers from Major League clubs. The Dodgers picked up extra international bonus pool money at the trade deadline for this very purpose it seems like. Jang has a four-pitch mix including a fastball that touches 97 mph. He’ll add another very talented young arm into the Dodgers’ organization.
