Padres sent LHP Jackson Wolf outright to Triple-A El Paso.
Wolf passed through waivers unclaimed earlier this month and was shipped back to the minors after being removed from San Diego’s 40-man roster. The 25-year-old hasn’t pitched in the big leagues this season after being re-acquired back in April from the Pirates in a small trade.

Padres designated LHP Jackson Wolf for assignment.
Wolf was acquired back in April from the Pirates after being included last year in the swap that send Rich Hill and Jiman Choi to San Diego. The 25-year-old lefty, who hasn’t pitched in the majors this season, has a decent shot at passing through waivers and remaining with the club.

Padres acquired LHP Jackson Wolf from the Pirates for INF Kervin Pichardo.
Wolf heads back to San Diego just a few months after being shipped to the Pirates last trade deadline as part of the Rich Hill and Jiman Choi swap. The 24-year-old southpaw was removed from Pittsburgh’s 40-man roster last week as part of an Opening Day roster crunch.

Pirates designated LHP Jackson Wolf for assignment.
Wolf was among the Pirates’ cuts earlier in the month and now he’s off the 40-man roster. The 24-year-old southpaw was part of the Rich Hill/Jiman Choi trade with the Pirates last August.

The Pirates optioned LHP Jackson Wolf to Double-A Altoona; reassigned INF Andres Alvarez, RHP Bubba Chandler, RHP Thomas Harrington and LHP Anthony Solometo to minor league camp.
Wolf was a part of the trade that sent Rich Hill and Ji-man Choi to San Diego last season. The 24-year-old southpaw pitched one inning during spring camp with the Pirates and will remain within Pittsburgh’s organization for the upcoming season. Last season he posted a 4.08 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 105/22 K/BB ratio across 88 1/3 innings (18 starts) for Double-A San Antonio.

Pirates acquired LHP Jackson Wolf, 1B Alfonso Rivas and OF Estuar Suero from the Padres for LHP Rich Hill and 1B Ji Man Choi.
Wolf made one emergency start for the Padres earlier this month before being shipped back to the minors. The 24-year-old lefty has posted a 4.08 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 105/22 K/BB ratio across 88 1/3 innings (18 starts) this season for Double-A San Antonio. He’s an interesting pickup for the Pirates in exchange for a pair of veteran role players.

ESPN’s Jeff Passan reports the Padres are finalizing a trade to acquire left-hander Rich Hill and first baseman Ji Man Choi from the Pirates.
The Pirates will receive left-hander Jackson Wolf, first baseman Alfonso Rivas and outfielder Estuar Suero in the deal. The move shores up San Diego’s starting rotation depth, while also giving them a quality option at designated hitter as they look to make a push for a playoff spot over the final two months of the regular season. It’s a great landing spot for Hill, who will be heading to one of the better pitcher’s parks in baseball of late.

Padres optioned LHP Jackson Wolf to Double-A San Antonio.
Wolf picked up a win in his major league debut on Saturday but heads back to Double-A as the Padres recalled Pedro Avila to fortify their bullpen. He will continue to work as a starter in the minors.

Jackson Wolf won his major league debut after allowing three runs in five innings against the Tigers on Saturday.
Wolf’s outing was interrupted by an 84-minute rain delay in the third inning, but the Padres kept him in and let him qualify for the win. The 24-year-old got just two missed swings and one strikeout in his 75-pitch outing tonight. His slider looks like an effective pitch, but the majors are likely to be a challenge for him with his 89-mph fastball.
