Solomon was released by the Reds last July and will get a shot this upcoming season with the Twins. The 26-year-old righty made nine relief appearances for Cincinnati during the 2022 campaign, but struggled mightily last year at Triple-A Louisville before being cut loose.

Solak is the most prominent cut from Reds camp as he was in the mix for a spot on Cincinnati’s bench to open the regular season after being acquired last November from the Rangers in a small trade. The 28-year-old offers plenty of defensive versatility and figures to get a shot at some point this season with the Reds.

Solomon is back in the Reds organization, three weeks after being cut loose at the non-tender deadline. The 25-year-old right-hander surrendered 10 earned runs over his first 8 1/3 major league innings in 2022, finishing with a 10.80 ERA.

The 25-year-old was knocked around during his time with the big league club in 2022 -- compiling a 10.80 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 9/5 K/BB ratio across 8 1/3 frames. He’s now free to sign any place he chooses.

A former 11th round selection of the Reds from the 2017 draft, Solomon seems likely to pass through waivers without getting claimed.

It’s an extra bullpen option for manager David Bell to deploy in the twin-bill at Great American Ball Park. Solomon, 25, has surrendered 10 earned runs over his first 7 1/3 major league innings this season.

With Jeff Hoffman returning from the COVID-IL on Wednesday, someone in the bullpen had to go to make room and it looks like Solomon drew the short straw this time around. Solomon posted an underwhelming 12.27 ERA, 1.77 WHIP and 7/5 K/BB ratio over 7 1/3 innings during his time with the big league club.

The right-hander is replacing Jeff Hoffman, who landed on the injured list without a designation on Friday. Solomon has struggled in his time with the Reds this season, posting a cringe-inducing 9.95 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 6/3 K/BB ratio across 6 1/3 innings.

Solomon has surrendered seven earned runs in 6 1/3 innings of relief this season with Cincinnati.

Solomon made five relief appearances earlier this season for the Reds and could easily work his way into high-leverage situations in the near future. The 24-year-old righty is replacing an injured Vladimir Gutiérrez (forearm) on the Reds’ active roster.
