Rangers signed INF Jason Martinson to a minor league contract.
The 28-year-old spent the first seven seasons of his minor league career in the Nationals’ organization. In 2016, he slashed just .218/.284/.369 with 12 homers, 58 RBI and 11 stolen bases in 507 plate appearances at Triple-A Syracuse. With the ability to play all four infield positions, as well as the corner outfield, he could make his big league debut with the Rangers in 2016 should injuries strike.
