The Twins might be more than a .500 team if they ever decide to use their 11 or 12 best pitchers. Miller had pitched 3 2/3 scoreless innings since being called up, but he wasn’t the best choice to be added to the Minnesota pen last month.

Ricky Barrett gets passed over again. This time, it’s for Miller, a flyball pitcher who had managed just 10 strikeouts in 25 1/3 innings in Triple-A. He’s a long shot to be more than adequate out of the pen.

Miller gave up eight runs in four innings during his time in the majors.

Jason Miller will head to Triple-A to open up room on the roster, leaving the Twins with three catchers for now. Chris Heintz should return to Triple-A eventually. It’s possible that Mauer will bat second, rather than his usual third, giving the Twins a stronger top of the order.
