Nationals signed INF Jaylen Smith to a minor league contract.
Smith spent the 2021 season with the of the independent United Shore League, hitting .224/.295/.341 with two homers and three steals in 95 plate appearances over 30 games. The 24-year-old infielder will get a look in the Nationals’ minor-league system this upcoming season.
