Orioles third base prospect Jomar Reyes drove in a career-high five runs Tuesday in a win for Low-A Delmarva.
Reyes also matched a career-high with four hits. He’s hit .462 over his six-game hitting streak, raising his average from .273 to .309. Tuesday was the third baseman’s 13th multi-hit game of the year. The 18-year-old is Baltimore’s 11th-best prospect according to MLB.com. Obviously Reyes is a long way off from the major leagues, but he’s worth keeping an eye on.

Orioles prospect 3B Jomar Reyes (thumb) was placed on the 7-day disabled list at Low-A Delmarva.
Reyes suffered a sprained thumb on Friday that will need to be immobilized for a couple of weeks. The injury is not expected to require surgery. The 18-year-old was off to a promising start to his full-season debut, batting .283/.343/.424 with 20 extra-base hits (two home runs) and 24 RBI through 54 games for Delmarva. Reyes’ performance this season, which led to him being named a South Atlantic League All-Star, is particularly impressive given his age and the fact he made the jump directly to Low-A from the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League.
