Santiago will be on his way to Triple-A Buffalo to be replaced, probably, by Jason Boyd, who has a 1.32 earned-run average in 13 2/3 Triple-A innings.

Santiago allowed two runs and 10 hits in 5 2/3 innings during his 3 1/2 weeks with the Mets.

Santiago pitched two scoreless innings during his fourth stint of the season with the Indians. Because of the way he’s being treated by the team, he may elect for free agency rather than again report to Triple-A Buffalo.

Santiago has given up four unearned runs to go along with the one earned run in 23 1/3 innings. He could be brought back to the majors later this month.

Over Jae Seo? Santiago, who last pitched in the majors with the Indians two years ago, was 7-5 with a 4.45 ERA, 126 H and 53/34 K/BB in 109 1/3 IP for Norfolk. Little should be expected.

Santiago had a 2.84 ERA in 25 relief appearances for the Indians, but his WHIP was an ugly 1.61. He should only land a minor league contract after becoming a free agent. Magruder was impressive in a brief late-season stint with the Indians, so there may be some interest in him as a possible fifth outfielder.

Santiago, who has reportedly been contacted by the Mets, has a 5.40 ERA in six appearances for Carolina.

Santiago gave up six runs in 3 1/3 innings this spring. Darensbourg was better, but there’s no room for another lefty in the White Sox pen.

Santiago’s deal was agreed to last month, but it was held up because the right-hander was switching agents. He’ll get a chance to compete for a bullpen spot this spring.

Santiago’s stay with the Indians lasted just one day. There’s a slight chance that his 0.90 ERA in Triple-A will cause some team to claim off waivers. After all, the Blue Jays grabbed Scott Service.
