Rockies acquired RHP Josh Grosz and LHP Griffin Herring from the Yankees for INF Ryan McMahon.
McMahon was a near lock to be flipped before the trade deadline so the Rockies found a deal that was to their liking, adding a pair of starting pitching prospects in return. Grosz, 22, was an 11th-round selection from the 2023 draft class. He has spent the entire season thus far at High-A Hudson Valley where he registered a 4.14 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and a 94/35 K/BB ratio across 87 frames in his 16 appearances (15 starts).
