Portes, who came to the plate just the two times, hit the slam off Kei Igawa. The 24-year-old Portes batted .297/.366/.434 for Double-A New Britain last season. With his ability to play some third base and both outfield corners, he could be a bench player for the Twins down the line.

Portes, 24, batted just .213/.287/.331 with nine home runs in 441 at-bats this year for Double-A New Britain. He’s produced better results at the lower ranks of the Twins’ farm system, though, and should continue to make progress at the Double-A level next season.
