Juan Portes delivered a grand slam and a two-run homer Sunday as a Twins split-squad shut out the Yankees 11-0.
Portes, who came to the plate just the two times, hit the slam off Kei Igawa. The 24-year-old Portes batted .297/.366/.434 for Double-A New Britain last season. With his ability to play some third base and both outfield corners, he could be a bench player for the Twins down the line.
