Guardians selected Oklahoma State RHP Justin Campbell with the 37th pick of the 2022 MLB Draft.
It’s a bit of a surprise to see Campbell fall this far, as there was talk of him being a mid-first round pick. The Guardians get a good one several picks later instead; as a 6-foot-7 right-hander who isn’t overpowering, but gets rave reviews for his ‘pitchability’ with a plus change and also a well above-average curve. He also throws everything for strikes, so Campbell should be a starter, even if he won’t be a dominant one with a (currently) average fastball.
