Phillies signed RHP Karl Gelinas to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Gelinas made it to Triple-A with the Angels in 2006 but has spent the last seven years in independent ball in his native Canada. He posted a 2.98 ERA with an 80/17 K/BB ratio across 99 2/3 innings this past season. Obviously, he’s a longshot to crack the Opening Day roster.
