Vicuña spent last season with the Phillies after logging seven years in the Blue Jays’ minor league system. The 25-year-old infielder is merely extra organizational depth at this stage of his career. He batted .272/.326/.372 with two homers and nine steals across 343 plate appearances last season at Double-A Reading.

Vicuña spent the last seven years in the Blue Jays’ minor-league system, hitting .245/.305/.314 with two homers and 12 steals in 82 games between Double-A New Hampshire and Triple-A Buffalo last season. The 23-year-old shortstop will provide the Phillies with some additional middle infield insurance depth next year.
