Kevin West hit a pair of solo shots last night and has four homers in six games for Caracas of the Venezuelan Winter League.
West and Garrett Jones, who is currently playing well in the Arizona Fall League, are two players the Twins should have given at-bats to once they fell out of contention. Instead, they messed around with Jason Tyner. West, 25, probably had the better case than Jones. He hit .271/.355/.478 for Triple-A Rochester this season. Maybe he’ll get an opportunity in 2006, but it will take more injuries.
