Tigers selected LHP Kyle Bloom from the Pirates with the eighth pick in the Rule 5 draft.
A strong Hawaiian Winter League season, in which Bloom posted a 1.50 ERA in 30 innings, probably has a lot to do with this selection. Bloom turns 26 in February and he lacks upside, but he’s worth a look as a reliever.
