McCulloch

McCulloch went 12-4 during the University of Texas’ national title run last season, but was less dominant this year. He likely doesn’t have ace potential, but should quickly become a solid mid-rotation starter.

McCulloch, a 2006 first-round pick of the White Sox, has a 4.64 ERA over parts of six seasons in the minors. He posted a 5.25 ERA and 55/30 K/BB ratio across 106 1/3 innings in 14 starts and 18 relief appearances between Double-A Carolina and Triple-A Louisville last season.

McCulloch has a 2.75 ERA in three starts this month. The 2006 first-rounder should be on the verge of a promotion to Double-A.

He struck out eight. McCulloch, a 2006 first-round pick, is 4-5 with a 3.50 ERA, 78 H and 51/26 K/BB in 72 IP. His lack of upside is one reason the White Sox have made acquiring bigger arms a priority this year. Still, he might have a future as a No. 4 starter.

McCulloch was a first-round pick by the White Sox in the 2006 MLB Amateur Draft, but he hasn’t quite put it together in their minor league system. The right-hander will serve as organizational depth for Cincy.
