Cardinals re-signed RHP Logan Sawyer to a minor league contract.
Sawyer compiled a lackluster 5.81 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 61/23 K/BB ratio across 52 2/3 innings (44 appearances) between Double-A Springfield and Triple-A Memphis. The 30-year-old journeyman right-hander has yet to reach the majors and is merely organizational pitching depth at this point in his career.

Cardinals signed RHP Logan Sawyer to a minor league contract.
Sawyer reeled off an absurd 30 consecutive scoreless relief appearances this past season for the Evansville Otters of the independent Frontier League. The 29-year-old right-hander, who allowed just 11 hits and finished with a 39/3 K/BB ratio across 30 innings, will get a shot with the Cardinals next year. He was drafted by the Rockies back in 2014 and hasn’t appeared in the minors since the 2016 season.
