Mets reassigned INF Joey Meneses, INF Luis De Los Santos, LHP Anthony Gose, RHP Sean Reid-Foley and C Chris Williams to minor league camp.
Meneses, 32, was brought in as a non-roster invite, and won’t be a part of the Mets to open the 2025 campaign. Gose and Reid-Foley are both non-roster invitees as well who will need to be added to the 40-man roster to pitch for New York this summer.
  • NYM 3rd Baseman #20
Mets sent INF Luis De Los Santos outright to Triple-A Syracuse.
De Los Santos will presumably stick around as extra organizational infield depth heading into spring training, but he has the option to elect free agency. The 26-year-old was claimed off waivers back in November after getting into 13 contests last season for the Blue Jays.
  • NYM 3rd Baseman #20
Mets designated INF Luis De Los Santos for assignment.
De Los Santos, 26, had been claimed off the waivers from the Blue Jays in early November. He becomes a 40-man roster casualty though as the Mets needed to free up a spot for Nick Madrigal. De Los Santos is more of a glove-first middle infielder, which makes it possible that he’ll slide through waivers without being claimed this time around.
  • NYM 3rd Baseman #20
Mets claimed INF Luis De Los Santos off waivers from the Blue Jays.
De Los Santos represents some additional organizational infield depth for New York after getting into 13 contests this past season for Toronto. The 26-year-old doesn’t offer a ton of potential at the dish, but he’s a solid up-the-middle defender, which should keep him on team’s radar screens for years to come.
  • TOR 3rd Baseman #20
Blue Jays recalled INF Luis De Los Santos from Triple-A Buffalo.
De Los Santos is one of the two new additions for the Blue Jays with rosters expanding, the other being left-hander Brandon Eisert. De Los Santos went 2-for-8 with a walk in three games in his previous cup of Tim Hortons with Toronto, but may get a more significant look with Toronto out of contention for the final month.
  • TOR 3rd Baseman #20
Blue Jays optioned INF Luis De Los Santos to Triple-A Buffalo.
The Jays treated the 26-year-old De Los Santos as roster filler rather than give him a real look after his July 30 callup. He went 2-for-8 with a double and a walk in three games.
  • TOR 3rd Baseman
Blue Jays selected the contract of INF Luis De Los Santos from Triple-A Buffalo.
De Los Santos, 26, will take the roster spot of Justin Turner. He’ll have a chance to make his MLB debut if/when he gets into a game. There’s no reason to consider him for a fantasy roster spot right now, but it’s fun to see a player who signed back in 2016 get his shot.
  • TOR 3rd Baseman
The Blue Jays are set to call up 26-year-old Luis De Los Santos to make his major league debut.
De Los Santos has been in the Jays organization since 2016, so this is a long time coming. He missed much of the first half of this season, but he’s hit .243/.393/.400 in 28 games since rejoining Triple-A Buffalo. A right-handed hitter, he’s probably in line for a modest role against left-handed pitching.
  • TOR Outfield
Blue Jays re-assigned OF Will Robertson and INF Luis De Los Santos to minor league camp.
Neither of the two players were expected to compete for spots on the team’s Opening Day roster, so Saturday’s cuts don’t come as any sort of surprise. Robertson had success in his limited Grapefruit League action, hitting .313 (5-for-16) with a homer, five RBI and a stolen base in 11 games. Robertson spent the entire 2023 season at Double-A New Hampshire and it’s likely that he’ll open the 2024 campaign at Triple-A Buffalo, just a small step away from his big league debut.
  • TOR Starting Pitcher #70
Blue Jays LHP Ricky Tiedemann and 18 other players were invited to spring training.
Tiedemann — universally considered among the top pitching prospects in the game — should get a legitimate shot at cracking the Jays’ Opening Day rotation. Injuries limited him to just 44 innings over 15 minor league starts in 2023 before he concluded his season by taking home Pitcher of the Year honors in the Arizona Fall League. The 18 other players invited to major league spring training on Monday were RHP Andrew Bash, C Zach Britton, LHP Jimmy Burnette, C Phil Clarke, RHP Connor Cooke, RHP Chad Dallas, INF Luis De Los Santos, OF Cam Eden, LHP Brandon Eisert, LHP Mason Fluharty, RHP Devereaux Harrison, RHP Ryan Jennings, RHP Hayden Juenger, INF Damiano Palmegiani, OF Will Robertson, OF Alan Roden, C Brian Serven and Andres Sosa.
