Braves reassigned OFs Magneuris Sierra, Forrest Wall, Justin Dean and Cody Milligan, INFs Adeiny Hechavarria and Joe Dunand, C Drake Baldwin and LHP Brian Moran to minor league camp.
Sierra, 26, has spent parts of six different seasons in the big leagues, but he was facing a major uphill battle at trying to earn a spot on the Braves’ Opening Day roster. He hit well in Grapefruit League play though, hitting .294 (5-for-17) with two RBI and a stolen base.

Braves signed OF Magneuris Sierra to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
The 26-year-old outfielder appeared in 45 games for the Angels during the 2022 season -- hitting just .165/.200/.242 with zero homers, five RBI and six stolen bases in 96 plate appearances. His speed and defensive prowess make him a nice depth option in the outfield for the Braves.

Magneuris Sierra has elected free agency.
Sierra appeared in 45 games with the Angels this season while hitting just .165/.200/.242 with six stolen bases across 96 plate appearances. The 26-year-old offers good speed and can all across the outfield, so he’ll be in camp with someone in the spring.

Angels sent OF Magneuris Sierra outright to Triple-A Salt Lake.
Sierra passed through waivers unclaimed after being designated for assignment last week by the Angels and will remain with Los Angeles as organizational depth. The 26-year-old former top prospect hit just .165/.200/.242 with zero home runs and six stolen bases across 96 plate appearances over 45 games this season in the majors.

Angels designated OF Magneuris Sierra for assignment.
This opens a 40-man roster spot for Logan O’Hoppe, who is getting the call on Wednesday. Sierra, once a top prospect with the Cardinals and then the Marlins, batted just .165/.200/.242 in 45 games this year for Anaheim.

Mike Trout is getting the day off on Monday against the Mariners.
No real surprise here as it’s a scheduled day off for Trout following six consecutive starts in center field for the Angels since last Monday. It’ll be Magneuris Sierra patrolling center field in this one. The 31-year-old fantasy superstar has torn the cover off the ball this month, hitting .309 (17-for-55) with a staggering eight home runs and 13 RBI in 14 games this month. He should return for Tuesday’s series opener against the Rangers.

Magneuris Sierra hit a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the 10th inning as the Angels beat the Tigers 5-4 on Tuesday.
It actually came on a pinch-hit squeeze bunt that plated Andrew Velazquez from third base. Sierra is now 15-for-80 (.186) with five RBI in 37 games played this season with Anaheim. He has a .501 OPS.

Magneuris Sierra went 1-for-4 with a two-run triple in Saturday’s win over the Twins
Down by a couple of runs in the bottom of the ninth, Sierra slapped a triple towards the left-field corner that tied the game up at 3-3. He’s 10-for-46 (.217) with four stolen bases since his season debut on July 24th.

Magneuris Sierra drove in the go-ahead run in the 10th inning and again in the 12th of the Angels’ win over the Athletics on Wednesday.
Sierra’s RBI single in the top of the 10th inning didn’t hold up after the A’s re-tied the game in the bottom of the frame. His RBI double in the 12th did, though, and he also added a pair of stolen bases on the day. Sierra’s bat is not major league-quality, but he does have four steals in 16 games already and should continue to see a decent amount of playing time.

Jo Adell (elbow) is not in the lineup Thursday against the Rangers.
Adell is currently dealing with a stiff elbow according to Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register. The 23-year-old sits for the second straight game with Brandon Marsh in left, Magneuris Sierra in center and Taylor Ward in right.
