Orioles signed RHP Matt Vogel to a minor-league contract.
Vogel was a 25th-round selection of the Rays out of South Carolina back in 2016. He’s pitched in several independent leagues since 2018. The 26-year-old righty posted a solid 3.74 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 73/25 K/BB ratio across 45 2/3 innings in relief between Long Island of the Atlantic League and New Jersey of the Frontier League in 2021. He’ll serve as organizational pitching depth for the Orioles next season.
