Michael Grove (shoulder) struck out the side in a perfect inning on Saturday in a minor league rehab start in the Rookie-level Florida Complex League.
Grove returned to game action for the first time since undergoing shoulder surgery last March. The 29-year-old signed a one-year contract with the Rays last month and figures to be an option for them at some point in the second half. He’ll need an extended rehab assignment to build up his strength and stamina since he hasn’t pitched in nearly two years.

Rays signed RHP Michael Grove to a one-year contract; placed him on the 15-day injured list.
Grove winds up with Tampa Bay after being cut loose from the Dodgers’ roster last November. The 29-year-old righty missed all of last year recovering from shoulder surgery after making 64 appearances (20 starts) for Los Angeles from 2022-2024. He’ll bolster the Rays’ rotation mix once he’s ready to return to the majors, but that probably won’t be for awhile until he’s gotten his feet back under him at the Triple-A level.

Dodgers RHP Michael Grove elected free agency.
The 28-year-old right-hander was removed from the Dodgers’ 40-man roster earlier in the week. That’s the unfortunate cost of business of having such a deep and talented roster, as the Dodgers simply can’t keep everyone. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Grove land a major league deal elsewhere this winter. At the very least he’ll have a plethora of minor league options to choose from.

Dodgers sent RHP Michael Grove outright to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Grove presumably went unclaimed on waivers after missing all of last season recovering from shoulder surgery. The 28-year-old righty made 64 appearances (20 starts) for the Dodgers from 2022-2024.

Dodgers placed RHP Michael Grove on the 60-day injured list.
It’s merely a procedural move after Grove underwent season-ending shoulder surgery earlier this month. The 28-year-old righty should be a full-go by 2026.

Dodgers RHP Michael Grove underwent season-ending shoulder surgery.
Grove was seen with his arm in a sling in the Dodgers clubhouse this morning. He joins a long list of Dodgers pitchers projected to start the season on the injured list. Grove was a member of the Dodgers’ bullpen last year, but was taken off the playoff roster due to injury. He appeared in 39 regular season games, starting twice, finishing with a mediocre 5.19 ERA and 1.21 WHIP. He’ll look to compete for a pen role with the Dodgers in 2025.

Dodgers removed RHP Michael Grove from the ALDS roster with an apparent injury, according to Fabian Ardaya of the Athletic.
It’s unclear what injury Grove has. The Dodgers will still carry 13 pitchers for the rest of this series as Ben Casparius has been added to the roster.

Michael Grove and Edgardo Henriquez are on the Dodgers’ roster for the NLDS against the Padres.
The Dodgers are carrying 13 pitches, so Grove gets a spot despite finishing the year in the minors. Henriquez, 22, also makes the team after only three career major league relief appearances. Both were picked over Joe Kelly, who allowed one run in four innings after coming off the IL last month. With just 13 hitters on the roster, Kevin Kiermaier loses out.

Dodgers optioned RHP Michael Grove to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Grove gets the boot after giving up three runs and taking the loss in the 11-9 game against the Marlins last night. He has a 5.12 ERA in 51 innings this season, though it seems like he’s dealt with bad luck; he has a 3.88 FIP and a 3.39 SIERA.

Dodgers recalled RHP Michael Grove from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Grove returned to the majors as part of the Dodgers’ September call-ups after being sent down a couple weeks ago. The 27-year-old righty has posted a serviceable 5.18 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 49/15 K/BB ratio across 41 2/3 innings (33 appearances, two starts) this season at the highest level.
