    The Orioles granted Enrique Wilson his release from Ottawa so that he could join the Cubs. That’s probably what the ''future considerations’’ were here. Moriarty doesn’t figure to make it back to the majors with the Orioles.

    The Astros needed some extra depth after calling up Eric Bruntlett and David Matranga. Moriarty was hitting .233 for Triple-A Syracuse before being released by the Blue Jays this week.

    Moriarty remained down on the field for about five minutes and appeared to be bleeding before standing and walking to the clubhouse. The team has yet to release any info on his condition.

    Moriarty had a CT scan Sunday and is scheduled to see a doctor again on Friday. ''It isn’t nearly as bad as we thought,’' manager Carlos Tosca said. ''There are a couple of breaks, but they aren’t displaced fractures.’'
