Nate Fisher has signed with the Sultanes de Monterrey of the Mexican League, according to KPRC2’s Ari Alexander.
Fisher’s lone major league outing saw him pitch three scoreless innings with the Mets in 2022. Unfortunately, he had a pretty dreadful year with the White Sox’s Triple-A affiliate in 2023, finishing with a 6.51 ERA in 20 starts and six relief appearances. He’ll open this year in Mexico, but with a no-buyout clause in his contract, according to Alexander, he could quickly return to the U.S. if he gets off to a nice start.

White Sox optioned INF Lenyn Sosa and C Carlos Perez to Triple-A Charlotte; optioned INF’s Bryan Ramos and Jose Rodriguez to Double-A Birmingham.
The club also reassigned OF Yoelquis Cespedes, RHP Edgar Navarro and LHPs Nate Fisher, Andrew Perez and Sammy Peralta to minor league camp. There were no real surprises among this batch of cuts, as Sosa’s chances of cracking the Opening Day roster were crushed when the club re-signed Elvis Andrus. The White Sox are now down to 50 players remaining on the big league side of spring camp.

Mets signed LHP Nate Fisher to a minor-league contract.
Fisher inked the deal in late November after registered a strong 2.89 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 47/11 K/BB ratio across 37 1/3 innings (21 appearances, two starts) across four minor-league levels in the Mariners’ system last year. The 25-year-old left hander, who signed with Seattle as an undrafted free agent back in 2019, will provide the Mets with some additional organizational pitching depth in 2022.
