Brewers signed RHP Nathan Patterson to a minor league contract.
Patterson turns 25 this week and is best known for raising some eyebrows with his mid-90s velocity during a speed pitch challenge at a ballpark. That eventually led to a minor league contract with the Athletics, where he posted a 4.76 ERA and 8/1 K/BB ratio over 5 2/3 innings in rookie ball in 2019. He’ll try to continue his improbable journey with Milwaukee.
