Injured starters Anibal Sanchez and Daniel Norris are on very similar recovery timetables, so the out-of-contention Tigers have decided to just go ahead and bring them back together.
Chris Iott of MLive.com says Sanchez will start Wednesday night in Minnesota and Norris will come on in long relief in that same game. They’re each expected to throw around 45-50 pitches.
Sanchez and Norris have both been on the disabled list since August 20 -- Sanchez with a shoulder injury and Norris with a strained right oblique.
The two of them can be penciled into Detroit’s starting rotation for 2016. Sanchez is still owed $38.6 million and Norris is a 22-year-old who isn’t even arbitration eligible.
