The Royals were given a bit of a scare this afternoon after left fielder Alex Gordon was left with a bloody nose in a batting practice mishap.

It all happened after Gordon hit a ball which deflected off the top of the cage and came right down on his nose. Marly Rivera of ESPN Deportes reports that Gordon was taken off the field, but Royals manager Ned Yost said that fortunately it’s “nothing serious.”

Here’s the photo evidence from the Kansas City Star...

Gordon is batting .273/.351/.455 with one home run, three doubles, and three RBI over 10 games during the postseason.

The Royals will bring a 3-2 series lead into Game 6 of the ALCS against the Blue Jays on Friday night at Kauffman Stadium.
