The Blue Jays will exercise a $6.7 million club option for pitcher J.A. Happ, Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reports.

Happ, 32, finished the 2014 season with his best numbers in five years. He posted a 4.22 ERA with a 133/51 K/BB ratio in 158 innings. The lefty started the season on the disabled list due to a back injury and initially contributed out of the bullpen before cementing a spot at the back of the Jays’ rotation in May.

Happ is expected to once again contribute out of the back-end of the Jays’ rotation in 2015.
