From the official Twitter account of the St. Louis Cardinals ...

St. Louis Cardinals sign free agent RHP Matt Belisle to a one-year contract. Belisle, an 11-year veteran, pitched w/Colorado from 2009-14.

FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal says the one-year deal is worth $3.5 million and carries $500,000 worth of performance-based bonuses. Belisle posted an ugly 4.87 ERA and 1.44 WHIP across 64 2/3 innings this past season out of the Rockies’ bullpen, but it’s reasonable to believe that the 34-year-old right-hander will fare much better in moving from the least-pitcher-friendly environment in baseball to one of the friendliest.
