According to Greg Garno of MLB.com, a fan was struck by a foul ball during Sunday’s game between the Braves and Cubs at Wrigley Field and transferred to a local hospital for further evaluation.

The fan, who was seated behind the camera well on the first base side, was hit by a foul ball of the bat of Kyle Schwarber in the first inning. Play was stopped as the fan was attended to by medics and eventually taken away on a stretcher. According to the Cubs, the fan was conscious.

The incident occurred just two days a fan was hit by a foul ball in Detroit, which caused Justin Verlander to voice his support for extending protective netting in MLB stadiums.
