Last week the Indians signed Joe Thatcher and now they’ve added another veteran left-handed reliever to the bullpen mix by agreeing to a minor-league deal with Tom Gorzelanny.

Gorzelanny is coming off a rough season in Detroit, posting a 5.95 ERA and 36/23 K/BB ratio in 39 innings. However, from 2012-2014 he had a combined 3.13 ERA in 178 innings and the 33-year-old journeyman has starting experience as well as plenty of bullpen work on his resume.

He’ll compete for a job during spring training, perhaps going head-to-head with Thatcher for one roster spot.
