It was raining hard in Atlanta

The Mets and Braves are currently in a rain delay at Turner Field in Atlanta. By the looks of things, it is not the ideal setting for a baseball game to be played.

Check out the state of the field as of 7:12 p.m. ET, courtesy of Grant McAuley of 92.9 The Game...

Meanwhile, Mets catcher Kevin Plawecki tweeted out this video of water rushing back into the tunnel toward the clubhouse...

Noah Syndergaard is not the scheduled starter for the Mets tonight, which feels like a missed opportunity. The game will presumably be ready to play once arm floaties are distributed to the outfielders.

UPDATE: Things are looking much improved in Atlanta. There might be baseball tonight after all.
