Justin Upton receives good news on left shoulder

According to Steve Gilbert of MLB.com, Dr. James Andrews told Justin Upton that the slight tear in the labrum of his left shoulder has not gotten worse.

Upton, who just turned 23 in August, has been limited to just four games this month due to left shoulder soreness. The root of the injury actually dates back to his first professional season as an 18-year-old in 2006, so the outfielder has been instructed to work on strengthening the shoulder for the long-term.

Upton is still highly unlikely to play again this season, however the diagnosis is a huge sigh of relief for the Diamondbacks, who signed him to a six-year, $51.25 million contract extension in March.
