Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports that the Marlins, Braves, and Giants have all expressed interest in free agent starter Jake Peavy, though Rosenthal adds that Miami will only become a realistic option for Peavy if Dan Haren retires.
Peavy did well to resurrect his dwindling free agent value in the second half of the 2014 season, posting a 2.17 ERA and 1.04 WHIP in 78 2/3 innings for the Giants after a July 26 trade from the Red Sox. He had a rough 4.72 ERA in 124 innings with Boston.
The 33-year-old right-hander should be able to find a two-year deal.
Edinson Volquez just signed a two-year, $20 million contract with the Royals.
